Sports sneakers at RunColors

This is the most extensive section of our sneakers’ range. Here you’ll find models originally designed for running, basketball or training, but which are now worn as everyday street shoes: Nike Air Max and P-6000, Air Jordan, New Balance from the 500, 990 and 2002R series, and the Swiss brand On with its CloudTec sole. More technology in the sole means comfort during long walks – and a more pronounced, chunkier silhouette than in sneakers.

Nike and Air Jordan

The Air Max, P-6000 and SB models are sneakers that combine visible cushioning with a bold design. Air Jordan brings its basketball heritage to the table: leather uppers, bold colourways and silhouettes that are recognisable from across the street. These are shoes for everyday wear, not for the court – but their technical construction means they can withstand long days on your feet.

New Balance and On

New Balance is comfort in its purest form – mesh, suede, a wide sole and sizing that works well even for wider feet. It embraces modern technology: the CloudTec sole, a lightweight construction and a minimalist Swiss design. Both brands are good choices if you’re walking around town for a few hours a day.

Sports sneakers or running sneakers?

The shoes in this category are sports-inspired but designed for everyday wear. If you’re looking for shoes for actual training sessions – with up-to-date cushioning, stability and optimised weight – take a look at the running shoes section, where you’ll find Brooks and On models in both competition and training versions.

Silhouette: slim or chunky

This category encompasses two very different styles. Models such as the Nike P-6000 and the New Balance 327 have a narrow, elongated silhouette in the spirit of 1990s running shoes – they sit well under slim-fit trousers. At the other end of the spectrum are sneakers with thick, sculpted soles, such as the New Balance 9060 or the more recent On models, which are deliberately designed to add volume. Choosing between them is mainly a question of the proportions of the rest of your outfit.

Materials and care

Choose care products for the actual upper material. Mesh, suede and smooth leather need different treatment, so follow the shoe and cleaning-product instructions. Rotating pairs also gives each pair time to dry between wears.
