A wallet is something you carry every day for years on end, so durability and a sensible size are key. We stock Fjällräven models – made from materials consistent with the rest of the brand’s range, in styles ranging from minimalist card holders to classic wallets with a compartment for banknotes.

Size and contents

A card holder can hold a few cards and a folded banknote – that’s enough if you pay by mobile and carry your wallet in your front pocket. A classic wallet adds a compartment for banknotes and a pocket for coins. The fewer compartments there are, the flatter the wallet lies; this is usually more important than its theoretical capacity.

Materials

Fjällräven uses the same materials as in its rucksacks – durable canvas and leather for the trims. The canvas is lighter and more moisture-resistant, whilst the leather develops a patina over time and retains its shape better. Both should be kept away from prolonged exposure to moisture.

What to look out for

The seams on the compartments and the edge that rubs against the pocket wear out the quickest. A wallet carried in a back pocket wears out several times faster than one carried in a front pocket – and puts less strain on your spine if you don’t carry it there.
