Snow boots are the warmest category in our sports section. We rely on Moon Boot – a brand which, since the 1970s, has been producing boots with a distinctive, rounded silhouette inspired by astronauts’ footwear. These are boots designed for conditions where ordinary winter boots are no longer enough: sub-zero temperatures, snow, trips to the mountains and long periods spent standing in the cold.

Moon Boot – why it works

The Moon Boot has a loose fit and is thickly padded, creating a layer of warm air around the foot. The coated upper is waterproof, whilst the wide, treaded sole provides stability on snow. The front lacing allows you to adjust the fit, and the high upper prevents snow from getting in.

For a trip to the mountains and into town

Snow boots are best suited to cold temperatures and snow – for winter trips, walks and outdoor winter events. In the city, when temperatures are above freezing and there’s wet slush, you’ll find the insulated winter boots from UGG or Emu Australia in our casual section more comfortable.

Size and fit

Moon Booty come in a wide range of sizes – many models are available in ranges covering two sizes, which gives you plenty of room. Wear them with thick socks; the boots should fit loosely, as it’s this extra space that keeps your feet warm.
