Children’s accessories at RunColors
It’s the little things that determine whether a child can stay outside for an hour or just ten minutes. Here you’ll find woollen and technical hats, balaclavas, gloves and socks – mainly from Reima, which makes them from the same materials as its jackets, and from BOBO CHOSES in more decorative styles.
Hats and balaclavas
A balaclava also covers the neck, which can be useful for younger children. Compare merino-wool options and any membrane features described for the product. Materials, warmth and wind protection vary, so choose the specific version for the conditions and the child’s preferences.
Gloves and socks
For the youngest children, mittens keep hands warmer than gloves, as the fingers keep each other warm. It’s worth choosing styles with a long cuff that tucks under the sleeve of a jacket. Woolly socks work well in winter boots; for lighter footwear, thinner, breathable styles are better.
How to choose the right size
Children’s accessories are usually sized by age group or, in the case of hats, by head circumference – the latter is more accurate, so it’s worth taking a measurement. For socks, go by the length of the foot. A hat shouldn’t leave a mark on the forehead; if it does, it’s too small, even if it technically falls within the size range.
