Regular care extends the life of your shoes more than anything else – especially in the case of leather and suede, which dry out and crack if not nourished. We stock two brands: Crep Protect, which specialises in sneakers, and Blundstone, which offers products for full-grain leather and suede in work and casual shoes.

Waterproofing – the first step

Before using a protective spray, check that it is suitable for the upper material. Follow the product instructions for application, drying and reapplication, including after cleaning. A compatible treatment can help make routine care easier.

Cleaning: suede, leather, canvas

Choose a suede brush or eraser for appropriate dry cleaning, and use leather care suited to the particular finish. Clean canvas with a compatible product and a soft brush where the shoe’s instructions allow. Follow the manufacturer’s guidance before washing or applying any treatment.

Starter kits

If you’re just starting out, the easiest option is to get a kit: it usually contains a cleaning foam, a brush and a waterproofing spray – in other words, everything you need for most materials. It’s also the cheapest way to see if you’ll get into the habit of looking after your items before you start buying products separately.
