Trousers on sale – joggers, jeans and cargo styles

Trousers are usually the trickiest item to buy sight unseen, so it’s best to start with the size and fit, and only then look at the price. In the sales, you’ll find everyday joggers, classic jeans and styles with a looser, straight cut. These are end-of-line items, so for most styles there’s only one or two sizes left. If you’ve got a tried-and-tested style that you already wear, the sale is the best time to buy a second pair to rotate between.

How do you choose the right size of trousers without trying them on?

The surest way is to measure a pair of trousers you already own that fit well – compare the waist circumference and leg length with the size chart provided with the product. With tracksuit styles, there’s a greater margin for error, as the ribbed waistband and drawstring will adjust to your figure. With jeans, stick to your usual waist/leg length: towards the end of a collection, it won’t always be possible to exchange them for a different size. Also pay attention to the fabric composition – a blend of elastane gives you a few centimetres of extra room, whilst stiff denim without any stretch will only start to stretch after a few days of wear.

Most of the styles come from Champion and Kaotiko – tracksuits, joggers and looser, street-style cuts. These are complemented by Levi’s with classic denim and New Balance in sporty styles. The range changes constantly as individual sizes sell out. It’s worth acting quicker when it comes to trousers than tops – the range of sizes is narrower here, and the popular sizes are the first to go.
