Stanley Quencher tumblers at RunColors
The Quencher is the model that has made Stanley a brand recognised beyond the outdoor world. It features a double-walled stainless steel construction with vacuum insulation, a wide handle, a tapered base that fits into a car cup holder, and a FlowState lid with three positions: a straw hole, a drinking hole and a fully closed position. It is the most widely represented range in our accessories department.
FlowState and how the lid works
The FlowState swivel lid has three settings, which you can switch between with a single movement. In the straw position, you can drink without removing the lid; in the drinking hole position, you drink just like from a normal tumbler; and when fully closed, it prevents spills whilst carrying. It’s worth bearing in mind that the Quencher isn’t leak-proof in every position: it’s a cup designed to be carried upright, not tossed into a rucksack on its side.
Capacities and what they’re suitable for
The 0.59-litre version is ideal as a tumbler for work and for the car; the 0.89-litre is the most popular size for the whole day; and the 1.2-litre is chosen by those who want to fill it just once a day. The larger the capacity, the longer it retains its temperature, but it’s also harder to fit the tumbler into the cup holder. We provide the exact capacity and dimensions for each product.
Maintaining the temperature
Vacuum insulation works both ways: a cold drink stays cold for over a dozen hours, whilst a hot one stays hot for several. The effect is significantly enhanced if you chill or warm the tumbler with water before pouring in the drink. Ice in the Quencher can last until the next day, which is one of the reasons for this model’s popularity.
Cleaning and accessories
The body and lid are dishwasher-safe, but it’s best to wash the straw and seal by hand – these are where residue builds up most quickly. The seals and straws are replaceable parts, so the cup can be restored to working order even after several years. You’ll find spare straws, lids and handles in the cup and bottle accessories section.
