Shirts at RunColors
We don’t stock shirts for suits. This category features casual shirts: heavier fabrics, a looser fit and finishes that look good whether buttoned up or worn over a T-shirt. Here you’ll find styles from Kaotiko in cotton and flannel, as well as the Swedish brand Fjällräven, which brings an outdoor feel to the range – durable fabrics and practical pockets.
A shirt as a layer
The most common way to wear a shirt these days is as an outer layer: unbuttoned, over a T-shirt, instead of a light jacket. This calls for a slightly looser fit and a thicker fabric – a shirt that’s too thin simply drapes down when worn this way. Flannel shirts and those made from denser cotton work best here.
Fjällräven and the outdoor theme
The Swedish brand Fjällräven makes shirts designed for outdoor wear: sturdier fabrics, reinforced seams and pockets that actually hold things. The Övik and similar models are shirts that are just as suitable for a weekend getaway as they are for everyday wear. The colour palette is understated and easy to coordinate.
Size and fit
When wearing a shirt as an outer layer, pay attention to the width at the shoulders – the shoulder seam should fall on the edge of the shoulder or slightly beyond it. Sleeve length is measured to the base of the thumb. If you plan to wear it buttoned up, also check the chest circumference; we give the measurements for each size in centimetres.
